Fender Stratocaster Vintage Green (ST-33) – Made in Japan [PRE-LOVED]

Up for sale, a 1993 Fender Stratocaster Standard Series Model ST-33 electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Built exclusively for the Japanese market, this early “Made in Japan” guitar was produced at the famed Fujigen factory and has both the exceptional feel and tone for which Fender Japan is known. With a maple fretboard, maple neck, and a radiant three-tone Vintage Green (Re-painted) finish, there’s plenty to love about this guitar. Each position on the five-way pickup selector switch is distinct, from throaty, rich lead tones in the neck position, thinned out squawk in positions 2 and 4, and a bell-like, shimmery bridge pickup, this Strat covers all the classic tonal bases. Weighing in at 7lbs 11oz and professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, we’ve dialed in this Strat with low action, accurate intonation, and 10-46 strings.

The maple neck has a medium C shaped profile, measuring .842” deep at the 1st fret and filling out to .928” by the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage-correct 7 1/4″ radius and the original vintage-style slender fretwire. The frets are virtually flawless and play cleanly up the fingerboard. The scale length is 25 1/2”, and the nut measures 1 5/8″ in width. The headstock sports stock Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well, and the tiny “Made in Japan” text is displayed on the face beneath the Stratocaster name.

All of the electronics work as they should, with a trio of stock single coil pickups wired to the traditional Strat control layout. The vibrato has a large block for optimal sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back into tune with ease. The chrome hardware is very clean, with only faint patina on the saddles and output jack plate, and the original pickguard and trio of knobs are intact. The guitar retains its original gloss three-tone Sunburst finish, and cosmetic wear is limited to a bit of light scuffing in the pick path with a few light dings relegated to the bass side of the body and a few stray scratches in the clear coat. The neck profile is pristine.
